These are the brushes I use for everything. They're not fancy or anything but they get the job done.

One of the most common questions I'm asked is "what brushes do I use?"

I understand the sentiment, but I think overall brushes aren't nearly as important as understanding the fundamentals of drawing, and the intuitive motor skills that go along with just practicing a lot.

Along with this is a free lecture from my Introduction to Figure Construction course on Proko.com where I go through the exercises I recommend you do to practice with these brushes.

With all of that said, I recommend using whatever tools work best for you.
